Is 9th Avenue 50's/60's restaurant scene improving?

hunger8struck | Aug 4, 201707:19 AM

Just saw a mention of Gloria, a new place to try on 9th Avenue and it made my heart beat a little faster to think things might start looking up food-wise over there.

We often walk up Columbus/Broadway/Amsterdam for dinner but it would be so nice to find some Hell's Kitchen restaurants to put into the rotation. There was a fabulous Mexican place that closed a few years ago and we have tried without success to find some other reason to walk the (terrible - will they ever fix them?) sidewalks on 9th Avenue.

We had high hopes for The Greek Kitchen but our meal there was meh. I know things get better nearer to the theaters in the 40's but in the winter, at least, we are loathe to walk that far. Any suggestions in the 50's/60's?

The Greek Kitchen,
GLORIA
