Our old cooking buddy from Nashville was visiting this weekend, and we did a massive shop-and-cook and dinner party Saturday night. Sunday morning, well, more like afternoon really, we took our somewhat throbbing heads and feeble bodies to 888 for dim sum. I had actually been thinking about a big bowl of menudo, but was making do with har gao and pork bao and the like when Mrs. O flagged down a cart and asked to see the contents. It was beef tripe! With a blazing gorgeous red chile-oil sauce! Not menudo, but it pretty much did the trick...
As our visitor and I were still feeling a bit overindulged we called it quits after maybe ten or twelve items, so our total tab was around $25. Golly, I like this place!
