I'll be in Dubai next week from Wednesday Feb 24th to Wednesday March 2nd. I'll be staying at the CityMax in Al Barsha. I love seafood, and I wouldn't mind trying out some top Indian, Lebanese or Iranian restaurants as well, since I heard there are a lot of good ones in Dubai.
On the night which I arrive, I figure check out the Madinat Jumerah area since its supposed to be a pretty lively area with some nice restaurants and bars.
Also, on Saturday night I'm doing a tour with Frying Pan, their Taste of India walking tour.
Here are some other places I've scouted:
Bu Gtair Cafeteria: I know it gets really busy, though when would be a good time of day to go?
Dubai Fish Hut Restaurant
Some restaurants near my hotel that look good: Olea, Butcher Shop & Grill, Tribes, the Royal Budha.
For some bars: Bahri Bar, Skyview Bar, Uptown Bar. Just wondering for the Skyview Bar, would I be better to go for some cocktails or one afternoon for high tea?
As well, I'd like to splurge on one nice meal thats fixed. Don't mind dropping between $200-300 CAD on a fixed menu. Any suggestions on whats really good and worth that value? Something similar to a Momafuku Ko in NYC or Bouley in NYC is what I'm leaning towards. Was looking at Hashi in the Armani hotel or Gordon Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen.
If anyone else has some suggestions on some good restaurants and bars that i should check out let me know.
