Another great reason to spend time in the Ucity Loop. I went to 609 for lunch( that's 609 Enright just off Delmar West of Skinker) to see the stage and do recon' for another night. I had a GREAT meal in a stunningly beautiful space with perfect staff.
Last first- be sure to leave room for a treat from the glorious dessert menu- thoughtful combinations, sinful, and beautiful. Everything on this day's lunch menu was under 10 dollars. The menu is compact- a salad, a fish, a soup, etc. There is enough to share but not so much that you feel as though you are eating from a serving dish. The food is carefully arranged- possibly a no-no for the chow crowd but we liked it. The selection is full of interesting combinations coming in closest to Asian inluenced American foods( I had crispy orange beefYUM, my friend had the pancetta pizza)
There is a bar area to the south of the dining room well removed with a great looking steel door. I will be inerested to see how the spaces work at night- the only concern I have is with the potential for noise.
I look forward to seeing other 'hounds' reports!
