6 Penn Kitchen

This past week, before a concert, I ate at 6 Penn Kitchen across from Heinz Hall and ordered their
Chicken, horseradish mashed potatoes, cornbread crusted stewed tomatoes at $25 per dinner ...and this was chicken.
I thought a bit pricey but it was downtown.

What I received was 1/2 of a rosted chicken. I thought OK I'm getting a lot of good food.

My critique:
1.) the horseradish mashed potatoes were different and pretty good.
2.) the stewed tomatoes - for whatever reason left a metallic after-taste in my mouth which was a strong negative to me. Did not like the stewed tomatoes and I am a huge tomato fan - not this time.
3.) Then there was the chicken, this wing, breast, leg carcass that I had to dismember,with some difficulty, and with not too much grace. At $25 per dinner (there were two of us) could they not have presented the chicken sans skeleton? How it was presented, well I have seen better at backyard picnics.

The meat was very bland and I really had to work to get it off. Skin was rubbery. I don't normally eat skin and this was a put off. Re: the meat, "bland" was a kind word.

The table looked messy when I was done and I tried to keep it presentable.

Quality/taste of the food:

"D" only because of the mashed potatoes. I've had better chicken from Giant Eagle or Cosco. Sorry 6 blew this one.

Presentation: "C-"

Value "F"

Not a good score or dining experience. It will be a while before I return, if ever.
