My wife and I will be in Madrid from May 5 till the morning of May 11.
Out of which the first half of May 9 will be dedicated to tennis (I'll throw in a "Vamos Rafa!" to be polite...) and either one or two day-trips to Segovia/Toledo will be added.
For the past few days I've read almost every post here that had to do with Madrid/Segovia/Toledo from 2013, so I can pretty much name the "usual suspects" (Sacha, Casa Rafa, Diver-Xo, Gastromaquia, Jose Maria etc.) while asleep.
So first of all - muchas gracias for all that info!
Both of us CAN'T WAIT to taste some Spanish food.
I do have a few specific questions though and would really appreciate any feedback:
1. My wife is well into her pregnancy, so she doesn't eat raw meat nor cold cuts (yeah, not even jamon...), how flexible are the above mentioned restaurants when in comes to handling it and adjusting dishes? For instance michelin restaurants with tasting menus.
2. Cigarette smoke is also not part of her diet.. is smoking common in tapas bars such as Lareda, Puerta 57, Casa Lucas? what about "lower grade" ones?
3. Real Madrid is playing (away) on the day we land, any recommendations for fun places to watch it without sacrificing the food level too much? the smoke thing is also a factor.
4. Haven't reserved any restaurant seats yet? How bad are my chances for the good places?
