Ordered a fresh, never frozen, pre-brined turkey online. It shipped from California at 7pm 11/25 and arrived to my door in Houston exactly 24 hours later. The turkey was refrigerated before shipping, vacuum sealed in a bag, packaged in a styrofoam line cardboard box with only one tiny 4” x 4” ice pack positioned at the base of the legs. I immediately stuck a meat thermometer about 2 in deep on the opposite side of the ice pack and the reading was 55 degrees. What do you think? Safe to eat?
