Obviously not a Chowish spot, but for those occasional posters looking for "New York style Chinese food," Huang's China Buffet might be a cheap way to satisfy your cravings. Fried rice, broccoli beef, orange chicken are all decent. And the $5.25 weekday lunch price includes a seafood section that includes steamed fish, mussels, crawfish and shrimp items. Actually, a couple of the items were pretty good--a imitation crab creamy cheese casserole was innovative and very tasty. Some of the other items were real misses, though. Clientele was surprisingly upscale, including a couple of guys in suits. Huang's is at 621 W. Manchester, just on the other side of the 405 from Randy's Donuts.
