50th b-day italian or steak or ?

LETTUCEINLOVE | Sep 21, 201407:21 AM     10

It's my husband's 50th and we wanted to go for a nice meal. Friends have suggested Tramonte's in Delray, but sometimes we don't agree with these people.

We love Trattoria Romana, but wanted something different. What about Sapori? Heard good things, but looks a little dingy, not really festive at all. Of course, we could go to NY Prime, which we love, but thats our backup plan.

We like to have a cocktail (or two), so in and around the delray/boca area is where we want to land.

I have to say, being a Chef myself (but not a snobby or snooty eater at all), we are constantly disappointed, which is a bummer because I love to go out and eat other peoples food. We would pay good money for the meal, but it's always frustrating to pay top dollar and leave when the dinner is over feeling taken.

@CFByrne- I generally agree with your reviews, so I hope you get the chance to weigh in-
