My husband and I are visiting Melbourne in September. We're in our mid 30s and this is to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We're staying on Bourke St. We're from Auckland where we have loads of great Japanese/Korean/Asian fusion restaurants so we're trying to steer clear of that. We enjoy great food but we also enjoy a fun atmosphere and we thought we should also try something Greek since we're in Melbourne.
So far I have narrowed it down to the following ideas but appreciate any input.
The Grain Store
Hammer and Tong 412
Lunches ?? (maybe just light bites along the way since we'll be eating such big breakfasts/dinners)
Movida (or Bar Lourinha I can't decide)
Gazi or the Press Club (or another Greek restaurant)
Saint Crispin (this is the one I am most sure about - the food sounds amazing and it seems to have that buzzy vibe)
Then maybe either Mamasita (sounds like awesome Mexican which Auckland is still catching up to) or Tonka (again sounded really different modern Indian) or possibly Donovans (mainly because they seem to have a lovely big fire and it will be cold!!)
Does this seem like a good mix? Am I missing something essential eg should we have an Italian restaurant in there? Or any thoughts on my selections would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
