36 Hours in the West Village

My husband and I are planning a whirlwind visit to NYC. It will be our first time back since moving away over two years ago. We are looking to stay downtown, most likely in the West Village. Please help us plan our trip. We are looking for the following types of places in the general area (willing to travel a little bit):

-Dinner for 2, open to different cuisines, $25-$40 price point for entrees, good cocktails and/or wine list, fun vibe, special but not stuffy
-Group dinner for ~8 people, meets criteria above or slightly less expensive, don't want to sacrifice food quality or atmosphere because we are a big group (I know it can be tough in that area), a friend suggested Charlie Bird or Chef's Club - are these any good?
-Artisanal cocktail place like Little Branch (is that still the best option in the area?)
-Cool bar to get together with a big group (up to 20 people who would be coming and going at different times on a weeknight) nothing too pricey or hard to get into
-Coffee shop, to go or sit in
-Lunch spot on the UWS, casual with great food, maybe even a killer slice of pizza

Thank you all in advance!
