Had a great time at 310 last night. Occupied a booth with great big banquettes for an absurd amount of time, and that was ok with the servers. Restaurant wasn't very busy (smart people with NY's resolutions) so didn't feel too bad (there was always another empty booth). Friend & I each had the wild salmon with parmesan gnocci and baby artichokes. Quite good, although not knock your socks off. Had a very very good warm chocolate brioche with vanilla ice cream. Excellent. Server (Dominick?) was very nice and accomodating; very eager to please. Didn't see the total bill, but the salmon orders were $22 a piece.
Conclusion - perfectly good food in a nice setting if you want a somewhat glammed up place to chat over a nice meal.
P.S. I've found that my experiences eating at restaurants recommended on chowhound are either:
1. Quite good food in nice settings for reasonable amounts of money, considering the nice setting (310, Bistro Verdu, Mercado La Paloma); or
2. Freaking incredible blow your mind food in the oddest places - funky or basic (La Cabanita, Chandra Thai, Zankou, Sandra & Lolita's Tamales, La Taquiza, El Parian).
