We're taking a drive between Dallas and Lake Village, Arkansas. The plan is to go out on I-30, and back on I-20 (or vice versa). So looking for suggestions. (The other half of this question, I'm posting on the Central South board here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/736684 )
I found many great suggestions on a search of the board -- especially from littleman (many thanks!) -- but I have a couple of questions:
First, which of these on our list are especially great (worthy of making a special stop for)? We'll probably only stop for one real meal each way and want to make it count.
Second, which are most typical of local specialties, especially things we can't get in Dallas or in the North? ** The asterisks seem like strong contenders at the moment.
