Restaurants & Bars 9

I'm planning on coming down to LA next weekend. I think all the recommendations I've gotten from chowhounds, along with previous visits, will give me plenty of restaurants for the all too few meals I have.

But there could be some in-between/after meal activities that I wind up in the market for. So I request information on 3 situations:

1) An afternoon coffeehouse around the eastern side of Beverly Hills, say 3rd & Robertson (I know, it's just outside the border). I've enjoyed sitting in the sun at The Abbey up at Santa Monica, wondered if there's anything closer. I should say that I'm not fond of Starbucks, or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf either;

2) An early evening coffeehouse or bar somewhere in the vicinity of Downtown Santa Monica. If it were a coffeehouse I'd probably go for Anastasia's Asylum, unless someplace else were recommended. With bar recommendations, bear in mind that the group would likely be 3 distinctly non-trendy middle aged White guys, so the hottest and hippest might not be a good idea;

3. A Sunday morning breakfast/brunch place around Downtown Santa Monica. I love The Rose--at least the counter seating--but something more central to Santa Monica might be nice. Years ago I tried Rae's and was very underwhelmed. I've read about the Blueberry Cafe, is that any good?
