Just got back from a week in Aspen and visited (and revisited) a few good places. First, in Snowmass "Le Provence", upstairs right next to where the bus drops you. Not too pricey, good selections and service.

Since "The Chart House" closed we've been going to "The Steak Pit" and it's always pleased us. Ate there two evenings this time, unfortunately the waitress misheard my order. As I didn't want to watch my friends eat and then have them do the same I ate the strip steak. It was OK but I'd had my heart set on Ribeye. Anyway for her error she deleted mine from the check (expected), BUT also comped us FOUR DESSERTS (unexpected).

In return I went back two nights later with a larger group and they did not disappoint. Entrees from about $16-$34 including selection of breads, diverse Salad Bar and potato. Considering a burger is about $8.25 on the mountain that seemed pretty reasonable.

Zacolitos is about a year old. Eclectic mix of south american style with some central american flavoring. I had chicken breast with chorizo and potato wrapped in bananz leaves one night, great and very reasonable. The second night I had duck breasts in a plum/wine marinade, grilled, with potato and vegetable, about $27 IIRC, very tasty and my two friends that sampled a bit of mine rated it pretty highly too.

Decent wine selections at both were available for $6-$10/glass.
