Friday will be stuck at/around Minneapolis airport about 3 hours from suppertime until mid-evening. Been there before, although not for a layover of this duration, and dread the prospect of paying extortionate bounties for the dreck from McDonald's, Sbarro, Famous Dave's, etc., around the Northwest gate area (which, with every passing year takes on more of the ambience of a 1970s bus station, complete with trash on floor, screaming babies, insufficient and sometimes filthy seating, harried and underpaid workers, noxious fumes spewing from public restrooms, etc, etc.)
Anybody know of a more pleasant dining area either within or nearby the airport? (No further than easy cab distance, I guess.) We generally like modest (and yes, even grungy but genuine) ethnic places; however, we realize that beggars can't be choosers. How about it, anybody know of any decent places? Please save us.
