after reading a little about it on chowhound, we went to check it out.
to begin with: there is definetely some service issues. However the manager listened to me, and then offered us complimentary drinks and appetizers.
As for the food:
Curried Pumpkin and sweet pototoe soup: apparentely this is his "signature" dish. The soup definetley had a wonderful smooth texture but the flavors were sadly lacking.
p.s we had a "cup" vs a bowl..and it was HUGE
Navajo Flatbread: with curried chickpea hummus, roaster artichokes, shitake mushrooms and tomoto salsa. This dish, was indeed a winner. Lots of flavors, lots of spice, etc etc.
Grilled Pear and Pecan Risotto; with sambuca and balsamic vinegar, spinach, roasted veggies, pecans and parsnip frites. Another winner.
Curried Roasted Vegetables and red skinned potato Stew: with green chili tofu, raisins, pineapple, almonds, bananas, coconut, peach chutney, blueberry yoghurt, and fried papadums. YUM YUM YUM
No dessert...too full!!! (not to mention we took home a doggy bag)
I actually went back for lunch with my 12 year old son...but again...more service issues.
We were told it would be a 50 minute wait. So I cant comment on their lunch menu coz we didnt hang around.
For people who dont eat meat or seafood..this restaurant has LOTS to offer.
Infact his dinner menu, offers 6 different types of fish!!
We were also tempted to buy the cookbook..but ...we would rather go back and eat his food!!!
I hope other chowhounds, have a chance to try this restaurant.
