3 Generations Visit Swanky Frank's

I've always wanted to check out Swanky Frank's hot dogs but it seemed that every time we were in Norwalk other priorities precluded a visit. Finally, this time we got our chance for the post-Thanksgiving Friday lunch. Along with my wife and four year old daughter we had my 75 year old mother, a hot dog lover from way back. We were not disapointed. The famous deep fried dogs were indeed crusty on the outside and juicy within, the fries were above average and my mother approved of the grilled dogs (I preferred deep fried). My daughter enjoyed her grilled cheese sandwich and then succumbed to the sight of all the grownups chowing down on their dogs and had one herself, which she enjoyed. The atmosphere was diner-minimal, to say the least, with a long counter and about 8 small tables in a side room, but our waitress was cheerful and the food came fast. Afterwards my brother, a Norwalk resident, told me that a few years ago a mysterious dead body was found upstairs. It doesn't seem to have negatively affected business.
