Tried 3 Bow Thais (Smith St.) tonight

Hey all you naysayers who've never even been there -- I tried 3 Bow Ties tonight on Smith St. in Carroll Gardens and liked it a lot.

I don't know what they mean by "modern Thai" either, but maybe they're referring to such untraditional dishes as carrot-ginger soup (a special), warm goat cheese salad, and fried wontons filled with chicken, potatoes, and onions and served with cucumber dip. Or maybe they just mean they don't serve pork -- which they don't.

The carrot-ginger soup was delicious, as was the chicken with green beans and lemongrass, another special.

It's not worth a special trip, but it's great if you live in the neighborhood and need a wholesome, inexpensive meal. The service was very friendly, and I even liked the paintings. They were modern too.
