I have a pretty good deli next to my office but, unfortunately, the prices are sky-high. Tuna salad on rye with lettuce and tomato is $8.39. It's a good sandwich, with fresh baked bread, but $8.39?
Well, I guess they're listening because they've come out this week with a Combination Special. You get half a sandwich, a small soup or salad, and a cookie for $6.99 plus tax.
Yesterday I had half a turkey breast sandwich with lettuce, tomato and mayo, a small lentil soup and a cookie. It was fine. But it got me to thinking...
The sandwich was "a half." By all appearances, sliced in half. I'd swear they made a whole sandwich and gave me half. Is this possible? What would they possibly do with the other half?
I was up all night thinking about it.
