26 Beach Cafe, Marina del Rey

For eons, I've noted Burger Boy's posts on the burgers at this spot. I happened to be in Venice today, so I went and got the 26 Special (a double cheese burger). Actually, it's a very large double cheese burger and you get fries or salad and choice of 3 types of buns. It's very good. The flavor reminds me of the double cheese burger at Lucky Boy in Pasadena but in size it's 2 to 3 times as large. OTOH, it's priced at $12. For some reason the waitress tried to charge me a dollar extra but I pointed this out to her and things were rectified. It's not as good as the late, lamented Thai American Express Cafe burger platter entry (at about $9 as I recall), but it's still available. Place has a good vibe in spite of the Marina prices. Located at 26 Washington Blvd, right by the beach.
