thanks, but

Thanks to HLing and Edward Aretz for what seem like two real Queens finds: 1)the soup & dumpling shack on 40th Rd.(11/4 by HLing)and 2)the Peruvian place on Greenpoint Ave. (10/26 by Edward). However, I need to share some info. lest people get the wrong impression, as I did. Re: HLing. I thought I was going to encounter 'Queens' own soup nazi' or some sort of 'arepa lady from hell.' But such was not the case. There were no fewer than four ladies working the counter, each eager to please. Also, no worry about being overcharged, as prices are posted. The lamb soup was indeed awesome, though my caveat is: all the other items take much time to prepare. Re: Edward. Your call for everyone to come out and support this place is indeed justified, as it appears to be the most tastily diverse and service-attentive Peruvian place in the boros. But I cannot comment on the roast chicken, because the two times I dropped by to take out (once after considerable time battling traffic),the chicken needed between 30 and 60 minutes to cook. Apparently, you have to phone ahead (392-0007); though English alone might not cut it. Anyway, thanks. I'll be going back to both place and urge others to give them a try.
