2223 Market brunch report

Marc | Jun 21, 200412:59 PM

Yesterday was father's day, and I had asked your opinions earliar about finding a nice place I could go with my wife and toddler daughter for brunch.

Thanks for the suggestions, I decided on 2223 Market for brunch.

Our brunch experience at 2223 Market was excellent.

Food: I ordered the scrambled eggs standard
dish with potatos, bacon, and toast;
everything was excellent
for such a simple dish.
My wife ordered the scrambled eggs with
house made chorizo dish; she liked it so
much she ate the entire thing, I had
a few bites and liked it myself.
One thing that I liked about the chorizo
dish was that it was not greasy.
For my daughter, we ordered two
small buttermilk pancakes; and I ended up
eating most of them because she was more
interesed in my wife's dish.
These pancakes
were some of the best I ever had.
The batter they used was superb and it
it gave the pancakes a distinct flavor.
Topped with Chantilly cream and syrup,
the pancakes were awesome to say the least.

Service: No complaints here, the service was wonderful
and very welcoming.

The bill for our food came out to $35 for the
two dishes, pancakes, coffee and O.j. I would
say pretty resonable for the quality of food
we had.

I would defintely recommend this place for brunch;
a great alternative to some of the other standard
brunch joints in town. The noise level was low,
and the place was not overly crowded.

I am glad I avoided the overrated Marina brunch
joints, those places can be a madhouse.
