2018 Firesteed Pinot Noir

tim irvine | Oct 31, 201908:24 AM     3

Yesterday I grabbed a bottle to go with a broiled loin lamb chop and some steamed asparagus. The pairing was excellent, but the big surprise was that this very young PN from a big production vineyard was extremely good, showing some finesse and complexity one does not always encounter at $40 a bottle, yet it was $10 and is occasionally available for $8 and change. If you like Oregon PN, I commend it as an everyday wine that would not embarrass itself at a nice dinner for company.
