May 2016 DOTM - Marinated & Raw Fish - Ceviche, Tartare, Poke, etc

masha | May 1, 201606:24 PM     20

Welcome to the reporting thread for the May Dish of the Month, Marinated & Sauced Raw Fish, which includes Ceviche, Fish Tartare, and Poke. Unlike some recent months where we’ve had a close race between multiple dishes, Marinated & Sauced Raw Fish was a runaway leader in out Nomination Thread, eliminating the need for any formal Voting thread. Here is the link to the Nomination Thread, /www.chowhound.com/post/2016-dish-mont...

What’s the difference between ceviche, tartare, and poke? Here are a few links explaining the definition and distinction of each:

See also this piece from Saveur, with some recipes for all three types of raw fish preparations: http://www.saveur.com/ceviche-seafood...

Let’s use this thread to report on and exchange experiences during May in cooking Marinated & Sauced Raw Fish. And, remember, if you want to share a recipe for which you are not the author, please respect the author’s copyright by either: (a) including a link directly to the source of the recipe, or (b) if no link is available, use your own words to paraphrase and explain the instructions for making the dish (although you may directly quote any list and quantities of ingredients).
