The CHOW community seems so lovely, I couldn't resist throwing my hat into the ring. Planning a wedding for June in the NY/NJ area, and venue hunting is well underway. Any and all recommendations would be appreciated! I'll break questions into sections, for easier answering -
(A) (Preferred) Venue Qualities
- app. 350(-400) guests
- looking to pay up to $70pp
- preferably not a Brooklyn/Williamsburg venue
- onsite glatt kosher caterer (unless bringing in outside is better?)
- equipment rental provided by hall

(B) NY/NJ area, better to use onsite or offsite catering? What are the added complications of either option?
(C) How difficult is it to purchase liquor/alcohol and bring it in separately, rather than renting a bar?
(D) Recommended caterers of a reliable quality fitting the $70pp or less budget?
(E) Is catering any cheaper for mid-week weddings?
I'll do my best to update on options we end up going with, and once again, any advice is very appreciated.
