New for 2009?

peachacid | Jan 7, 2009 04:13 AM

Hi - My boyfriend and I've visited New Orleans twice -- once in 2007, once in 2008. We're planning a trip for early April. Anything new or newly excellent that we should try? Or a good old stand-by that is highly recommended?

We've been to:
Acme Oyster House
Napoleon House
Johnny's Po-Boys
Cafe du Monde
Central Grocery
Commander's Palace (we walked around the cemetery there after and saw Noah Wylie)
Coop's (mmmm jambalaya)
Brennan's (for dessert)
Mona's Cafe (I think that's the name, on Frenchman)
lots of other random places that I can't remember

We eat everything and would like to probably have one awesome dinner and try to save $$ on everything else. We'll be staying in the Quarter or nearby. Oh, and my boyfriend loves soup, so if anyone has a great soup recommendation, do tell. =)
