I had a tough day and decided I should treat myself. Consumed with a smoked chicken for dinner. This is easily one of my favorite CA Pinot Noirs. Not over the top, in your face, but more Burgundian in style. Feminine, sophisticated, and sublime. Not whimpy, this is a mediuml bodied PN, deep clear garnet in color. Nose of cherries and black fruits, with a little briar and some spice, notably muted nutmeg and cloves but not overwhelming. Flavors of black cherries, cranberries, and raspberry. Nice mouthfeel but a little weak in the mid palate. Medium finish(maybe 20 seconds) with well integrated tannins. Not at all hot. Medium to long finish. Definitely a very nice wine that could go a few more years with no problem. But I doubt they will last that long in the cellar.
