20 MILK ST. STEAKHOUSE--PORTLAND

Irwin | Sep 25, 2005 11:37 AM

Had dinner @ 20 Milk St last night, and observed the following. At 7:30pm only 3-tables were occupied. The steak was excellent and cooked perfect. My wife had the rack of lamb and it was very fatty. The ceasar salad was good but not special. The service was slow, needed to ask to get our silverware changed, needed to ask to get our water glasses filled. Yes, the bread was exceptional, and kept warm with lava rocks. The mixed cocktails at the table had plenty of booze. The waitress was not warm, or personable, and always in a hurry. The chairs were very comfortable, but hard to move in and out from the table, and probably need casters to solve this. The bill with 2-salads, 3-mixed drinks, 1-glass of wine, 3-tenderloins, 1-rack of lamb, 1-side order of mushrooms came to $180. Again, the (3)steaks were excellent. Will I not be in a rush to return...............
