riel - had a nice lunch in the courtyard. The price of the 2 course prix fixe was determined by the second course, so one had a choice of any 1st course. I tried the duck confit risotto, followed by the catch of the day, which was a tuna nicoise with a generous portion of seared tuna (at least 6 ounces, maybe more, $26 including the first course). My friend tried the Greek salad, followed by at least 5 large seared scallops ($24 including the first course). Service was friendly, and our lunch took just under an hour.
La Coupole - wasn't sure what to expect from the $25 prix fixe lunch, since there don't seem to be many reports. My first course was an arancini (rice ball) on eggplant puree, followed by a mojito granita to cleanse the palate. My second course was a tender veal scalloppine in lemon and wine sauce, with fried polenta squares and sauteed cherry tomatoes. My friend enjoyed the caprese salad, and the dorade. Very generous portion of dorade. The dessert was fresh berries and lychee in a crystal clear gelatin. Good value, and very friendly, courteous servers.
I'd be happy to return to both La Coupole and Ariel for lunch.
