2 NEW OC FARMERS MARKETS: to open in May

jschyun | Apr 19, 2005 11:51 AM

Just a heads up that 2 new farmers' markets, one in Santa Ana and one in La Habra, will have their grand openings in May. I found out about this because our coop garden board of directors (http://spirit.dos.uci.edu/avcg/ check it out if you want to see the crappy site I made) had a meeting and the mother of one of the organizers mentioned it while I furiously scribbled down the particulars.

Apparently, they've been trying to get this going for about three years, but have been stymied due to politics, etc. you know, the usual. The organizers also have ambitious plans to establish community gardens in Santa Ana (see the site below), as well as public art projects. It's a very interesting project. I haven't seen anything like this in OC, but feel free to correct me if similar projects exist.
