2 lunches, downtown Spokane

it's been about 2 years since I've returned to visit Spokane. I'm looking for upscale-ish yet fun. Mother-in-law is originally from London, is close to 80 yrs old and not adventuresome at all. For all of you locals, the Mustard Seed teriyaki is as ethnic as she gets. She rarely goes out to eat, and it's pretty much Applebees when she does.
I'm thinking of Wild Sage or the Davenport Hotel. A very good Chowhound friend who lives downtown will work on recommendations and will join us for the lunches; but I wanted to check with the Spokane Chowhounds to see if there were any suggestions. No Mexican, no hot chile anything, no Thai, no sushi, maybe Chinese, but basically, nothing non-Western. Price will not be an issue.
Thanks a bunch!
