I'm a new jersayan living in Rome (after a 15 year stint in San Francisco). I am making a quick trip to NJ in October, and for the first time in manymany years, I think I can escape the family for a 2-3 meals in the city. There are some good (and one or two great) places to eat here, but all pretty much of a type and I am missing a certain something. I would like verymuch to try to get into Nobu57 as I have such fond memories of Nobu and its the kind of cooking I miss. I am toying with Daniel or Cafe Bouloud, or one of the Bouley establishments, but thats more based on my fond recollections of eating there in the past, and the fact that they seem like they would be anti Rome (oddly enough, French food is one of the things I miss the most). Maybe they are no longer worth the money they cost? Anybody have anybetter ideas?
