2 Days in DC with a 4-year-old

We are foodies with a 4-year old and we'll be in DC for two full days/nights, so breakfast, lunch and dinner recommendations would be great. We'll be staying near the Navy Yard and would like recommendations near the mall and Commerce Building, though we have a car and don't mind driving for dinner. We love "joints" but price is not an issue.
We love thai, vietnamese, Sushi, chinese/dim sum, indian, ethopian, italian, greek, mexican, cuban, tapas, and any other type of GOOD EATS.

When we were in NYC with our son, we went to some of the "finer" restaurants at 5pm when they first opened. They welcomed us with then 3-year old and we had fabulous meals before the restaurants got real busy with folks who might not like dining with a little tike. So any recommendations of places that we could do this again?

Also, a great bakery and ice cream spot would also be appreciated.
