Hi fellow hounds..
I'm a NY'er, who caught this recent thread on the Manhattan board -- [BROKEN LINK REMOVED]
I'm printing that info, but I'd LOVE info from all of you locals as well.
My trip (5 days) is a business one in nature, but I've added plenty of time to see the city and taste the local treats (I don't even know what N.O. local food is, save tabasco sauce.. cajun? -- Excuse my ignorance.)
I'd like suggestions for any and all food, save raw fish which I cannot eat -- cooked is fine, and food at any price is okay too --- from street to the most pricey. Even those tough to score reservations won't be a problem. So tell me about them.... please -- What are your TOP restaurants? And how is the food at the Ritz Carlton?
I'll be staying in the French Quarter, but can travel without a problem.
I prefer but don't need romantic rooms (quality of food is my top priority). I'd also like suggestions for a few coffee shops...... outside eateries and/or coffee shops and some relatively quiet drinking rooms/bars and great dessert places.
I'm 40 years old and female.
(Also and off topic (sorry) what sights should I not miss? Galleries? Historic? Views? -- I'm a photographer.)
Thanks for all the help... (Will post a report upon my return)
Oh and WHAT should I wear at those places with a dress code? I will have a male companion with me..... tie/jacket required?
With much gratitude, The N.O. Virgin.
