I'll be in New Orleans next week for two nights. I've only been there once before 20 years ago and cannot wait to eat. I'll be in the French Quarter with no car and a 9 month old baby, so I need restaurant recommendations within walking distance and baby friendly (no dirty looks even though he's never cranky). Since I only have two days, I really want to try what locals would concider classic New Orleans dishes. What are your favorite oldies? I'd also prefer restaurants that are geared more towards locals than tourists. I remember LOVING shrimp etouffe and shrimp po boys when I was there, so any favorite spot for them also? Oh, I should probably think of what to do between those meals as well! Any recommendations? Thank you!
