i went to zuni cafe with some doubts in my mind but i decided to go for it
on a saturday night, without a reservation, we (2 of us) arrived at 7:00 and got seated at 7:25, they were really busy but i guess we got lucky
i really liked our table, it was on the ground floor, the table closest to the kitchen where we sat side by side, we had a great view of the kitchen, espeically the people working the brick oven and making the caesar salad
they have a great selection of oysters, including oysters from washington such as the olympia, so we got a dozen oysters, the house-cured anchovies, the roasted chicken for 2 and a plate of shoe string potatoes
except for the anchovies (weren't fishy enough), everything was excellent, i couldn't have been more pleased
i will note though that when i saw the oyster shucker, sometimes the guy would not make a clean shuck so he would take the oyster and clean it out in a little container of water, thereby losing all the good juice....
about the service, it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad, it was, for lack of a better word, efficient, and there was nothing wrong with the service we received
in conclusion, i would definitely go back
