Tried 2 Amy's Pizza in Cleveland Park for the first time and really liked it. Very simple, bright decor, family friendly, and fresh ingredients in their neapolitan style pizza. We tried a porcini mushroom, cherry tomato and onion pizza special, the norcia (salami, peppers, parmesan), the pirettone (sp?) -little meatmalls made with beef, veal, pork in tomato sauce (can be an appetizer and also on the abruzesse pizza), the salt cod fritters (3 pieces, fried, needed something like an aioli sauce), the santa brigida (basically a margherita with arugula and we added some prosciutto). They've got daily specials for wine, appetizers, pizzas and dessert, and a decent bar (in the back of the restaurant) with hop pocket ale, anchor steam, and pilsner urquell on tap. Prices average about $13 for a pizza, about $6 for appetizers and salads, beer $3.50, wines $6-$8 by the glass, $20-$30 per bottle. Three pizzas are made the traditional italian way, to exact specifications (D.O.C.). They also serve stuffed pizza/stromboli.
No reservations, and would recommend early arrival because there's a long wait for tables. There's a little outdoor deck in the back with limited seating, and they serve food at the bar (bonus). Nice, friendly service.
