My husband & I are traveling to NYC tomorrow morning (Thursday) until Sunday and I'm starting to FREAK OUT because I want to really milk this trip in terms of great food and there are just SO many reviews out there that I'm totally overwhelmed. I'm a bit of a *researcher* if you will, and I'm now drowning in "must eat" "have to try" "best ___ ever" reviews.
We have resrevations at Otto for Thursday evening for an early dinner with friends.
Also have reservations at Savoy for Saturday night early dinner (going to see SNL so had to be early).
Places I've heard of that sound good: Momofuku's noodle bar (but basically just for the pork buns), Spigolo, Pastis, Pommes Fritas, Sarahbeth's (brunch), the Standard's Beirgarten...
I'm excited about Otto...seems interesting enough as long as we stay away from the pizza from what I understand...but I'm hearing kind of yawn-inducing reviews about Savoy? Should I cancel those reservations? We almost has reservations for the chicken dinner at Momofuku but my friend's husband can't get off work in time and they don't take reservations for less than 4 ppl.
Chowhounders I turn to you...where would you take a food-adventurous couple with a moderate budget (willing to spend $60-70 pp, plus alcohol, if it's really worth it.
