1.5mm copper vs 2.6mm tri-ply?

I'm starting from square one in the kitchen, but I want to do it right. I know tools don't make the chef, but I want to start by using the cookware that I'll end with, so my skill is the only variable on this journey. Right now I have some 1.5mm copper pieces that are barely 2mm thick (maybe under 2mm) including the stainless steel lining. They are as follows:

10" fry pan, 1.5 quart saucepan, 2 quart saucepan, 2.5 quart dutch oven.

Would it be worth it to sell these and get the 3-piece All-Clad tri-ply set (10" fry pan, 3 quart saucepan, 3 quart saute pan)?
