We went to Sabur last Saturday night for a late dinner. Approx. 9:00 pm. Got a table right away. Staff was very warm and pleasant.
This was our 2nd time. 1st time was when it first opened. I don't recall what we had then but for this go around we started with a decent, not great, appetizer of bourek.
The disaster came with the entrees. I ordered a polenta dish and my wife ordered a chicken dish (can't recall either menu name). I always thought polenta should be on the moist/dry side but my was swimming in a pool of water. I could bearly eat the stuff. My wife's dish was not that much better. The chicken itself was ok but the supporting vegetables (made up of lentils, beans and various other legumes) was horrible.
The place was crowded so that indicates that others were satisfied. And the CH's rave about this place but I have to tell you it was a big waste of time and money. Perhaps it's that type of cuisine but I can't ever take another visit to Sabur.
