Is 1.5 mm hammered copper too thin for an 12 qt. stock pot?

alexrander | Apr 14, 201505:52 PM     6

Some one I have bought copper from in the past has a new Italian copper stewpot, actually it's 11 inches wide and 8 tall.. I inquired about the thickness and was told it's 1.5 mm. I said no thanks, and they said it's quite nice.

Any copper I've seen in a store that thin just seems flimsy, and I question why they make them. But... I have no personal experience and it is at a good price- about $160 . I don't need it for decoration.

Is there any reason why I might reconsider and purchase this?
