Whilst having dinner at Cafe Michi this evening, I was informed by Toshi san that there will be a dinner hosted by the Japanese Canadian Cultural Center next Tuesday. Cost will be $125.00 per person. Apparently, every well known Japanese chefs in town will be attending and showing off their skills. These include Kaji from Sushi Kaji, Kashiwabara from Zen, Hiro from Hiro Sushi, Endo from Aoyama, Jyo Gao from Solo Sushi-ya, Toshi from Cafe Michi....etc. Every chef will be responsible for a dish or two. For example, A-5 Wagyu Beef Shabu-Shabu and special Anago ( sea water eel ) don by Kaji, Uni don from Zen........etc. In addition, there will be a demonstration by some of the chefs to dissect and cut up a whole Blue Fin Tuna which will then be made into sashimi and sushi for the paid guests!!
