I'm wondering what most people think about this. I'm not one to ever ask for a comp, but after I left and thought about this, I felt like the matter was not handled to any satisfaction or even acknowledgement of their oversight.
111 Forks is supposed to be a high level of service and attention to the customer, especially when it's something like Valentine's Day. Overall, the the service and food were very good, but there was a major oversight in the salmon. 3/4 of the filet was undercooked and was rare. I told the waiter who quickly snapped it off the plate to have it sent back. And they brought back the broken pieced filet fully cooked but was returned 15 minutes later to my guest after I had finished my plate. There was no apology by anyone nor even a comp offer of a dessert. How sad can this be? I feel that this is a huge oversight by the kitchen of raw fish without any kind of acknowledgement of a failure on their part. They could have at least comp'd the only glass of wine for the obvious mistake on their part.
I'm paying good money to have an exceptional experience on a special day. Did the waiter just not care? He wasn't slammed busy to where he couldn't handle the matter in a timely fashion. I should not have to ask for anything as a comp for their extremely obvious failure. It should have been offered. I won't be back just because this was not a good experience from a customer perspective.
