New Orleans is a city with a wonderful food tradition and, as a result, the grand dames and other well established restaurants get the most mentions on this board, and it generally takes a long time for newer places to break into the conversation. (It does happen, of course, as evidenced by oft mentioned newer places like Peche, Toups Meatery, R'evolution, etc.) And while any list of this sort is by definition imperfect, I thought I'd share a list that Zagat just published of the "10 Hottest Restaurants in New Orleans." (It really should be called the 10 Hottest NEW restaurants in New Orleans, as plenty of the old guard continues to be just as hot, as evidenced by the difficulty of getting reservations at many of them.) Of these 10, the only that I have visited personally is Red's Chinese -- which I enjoyed very much -- but I plan eventually to get to all of them.
