We decided to check out this place after seeing an LA Times story a month or so ago, so we mosied out to Northridge.
It was great!
It's a large modern Indian grocery (dry goods only) with a deli counter and about ten tables. You order at the counter and seat yourself.
We had the #1 combination (which features basmati rice, raita, two vegetarian entrees and naan), a masala dhosa and a potato banda, a mango lassi and a strawberry lassi.
Everything was delicious and the portions were so large, we couldn't finish between the two of us. The tab? $11.10.
If you're in the west Valley, you should check it out.
We were talking to an Indian lady in line and she was telling us that her favorite place for southern Indian food was Jaybharat in Artesia. Has anyone eaten there?
