03/08 Fiorello Gelato:Caramel Balsamic is Truly Astounding

Here in Boston we have some excellent ice cream vendors. And the North End, our large and somewhat 'Old World' Italian neighborhood, has some wonderful gelato.
Given all that, the Fiorello Gelato - that I found being scooped at Dean and Deluca in Napa valley- is phenomenal. (Some of you astute SF CHs (rw?) had mentioned Fiorellos in one of the million CH threads I printed out during my just-ended Ca. vaca.).

All the flavors I tried, even the truly full bodied Green Tea flavor, were terrific; full flavored, dense, velvet creamy. But this Caramel Balsamic was 'out of the park'! Balsamic adds a unique depth to strawberries and many other things but who knew it was a perfect enhancer of caramel? Wow, maybe we can get Michael Recchiuti to try making a balsamic tinged version of his salted caramels...!!! I'll volunteer to kick off a letter-writing campaign....
