Before/After Theater Help

Hungryin theBurbs | May 30, 2008 10:24 AM

Hi all. I posted about a month back about planning my anniversary weekend in late June and got some great help for you all. Our Friday plans are firming up and I've got a few more questions. We are having lunch that day at Bouley (Uncle's treat, place not negotiable) and that evening we are going to the theater. I'm guessing we'll be full from lunch and won't want a full pre-theater dinner, but might want something small, with another smallish (or largish) meal after the show. The show should be over around 10:30.

So, I guess I'm asking for suggestions for both before and after. I've been to both dbBistro and Marseille (thanks to RGR's excellent suggestion a few months back) and am considering them both for the before, but I'm interested in some non-French options--someplace to get a glass of wine and a small plate or two.

For after, I'm not really sure what is good for a late meal. I'm guessing to be safe, we should plan for 11:00. One thought I had was Balthazar. I've never been and always wanted to, and I know they serve very late. If we don't go then, it might be our Sunday brunch spot (competing with Russ & Daughter/Donut Plant).

Thoughts on these choices? Other suggestions? We are adventurous eaters, love pretty much all food, and want to eat really, really well this trip.
