Back in high school and college, Melissa Coleman's grandmother used to call her Martha because of her many domestic interests. These days, under the blog name The Fauxmartha, the designer, maker, and baker set to a minimalist tune posts the recipes that dress her Minneapolis home's table week in and week out. During the week, she makes quick minimal dinners, mostly vegetarian, for her family. But when a craving for hamburgers or chicken fajitas hit, she will jump on it. By weekend she bakes the slow and classic way. She's a purist at heart. Butter, cream, milk, eggs, and flour (especially wheat) all have a place in this kitchen. And she prefers a handful of tried and true recipes that can be tweaked from season to season.
