The Real San Francisco Treat(s)

San Francisco's Chinatown is the largest one outside of Asia, and the oldest in North America. Unsurprisingly, Chinese (and Americanized Chinese) food has been a mainstay of the city since Gold Rush days, even though the Chinese business owners and residents themselves were often scapegoated and discriminated against. Happily, things have improved greatly since then, and you can still find plenty of traditional restaurants in the city (not just in Chinatown), as well as more modernized takes on Chinese cuisine.
